The Teachers 4.0 project, reflecting the realities of today’s classrooms, aims to equip teachers with the necessary skills for modern education. In an era where classrooms are increasingly shaped by screens, devices, and digital content, educators must remain vigilant and supportive towards their students. The e-learning platform we have created enables teachers to develop their skills in a self-paced online environment, enhancing their competences in digital media literacy, disinformation awareness, and critical thinking.
This joint European effort offers a 60-hour online course, divided into 10 modules, based on the curriculum that was developed and delivered as a university course in nine European universities and institutions. The course provides an interactive blended learning experience, designed to help teachers hone their skills and adopt new teaching techniques suited to the digital age.
What have we included for you?
- 11 introductory videos
- Interactive assessments and quizzes
- References
- Sample lesson plan
- Discussion forums
- Available in six languages (English, Bulgarian, Romanian, Greek, Polish, Italian)
Why this matters: The bigger picture
Our online course remains committed to the promise of open-source, freely accessible learning materials, even after the project’s completion. While our activities may conclude in November 2026, our legacy will not. By continuing beyond the life of the project, the Teachers 4.0 Digital Age e-learning platform will serve as a living hub for teacher professional development, evolving alongside the rapidly changing digital landscape. We will not gatekeep; we will ensure that Europe’s classrooms remain spaces where disinformation is challenged, digital skills are strengthened, and students grow into resilient, democratic citizens.
Phase 1: The pilot testing
Creating a dynamic, multilingual, and interactive digital learning experience can be challenging, but we want the outcome to be engaging and impactful. That is why the platform has entered its piloting phase, in which 120 teachers from all participating countries will enrol in the course, helping to shape the path towards the platform’s official launch. We will let in-service teachers decide whether this has truly been a beneficial experience for them by asking questions about:
- Usefulness
- Information quality
- Interface quality
- Accessibility
- Engagement
- Multilingual accuracy
Want to be part of the magic?
If you are an in-service teacher in one of the project’s participating countries (Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Greece, Cyprus, Italy) and would like to join the piloting phase of the e-learning platform, do not hesitate to get in touch with us. Simply express your interest through this contact form, and we will get back to you as soon as possible with further instructions. We would love to hear your feedback and co-create the final product!

Next stop: The beta version
Put simply, all feedback from the pilot testers will be incorporated to develop the final product. Our developers will implement the necessary adjustments to make the platform as user-friendly, offline-accessible, locally adapted, and interactive as possible. The result will be the platform’s beta version — a teacher-tested, teacher-approved space ready to scale up to thousands of users.

One step at a time…
Looking ahead, the Teachers 4.0 Digital Age project will focus on delivering the online course to a much wider audience. We aim to engage as many in-service teachers as possible and, to achieve this, we will organise a series of online seminars throughout all partner countries. Through this process, teachers will not only learn but also exchange practices, building a cross-border community of digitally empowered educators.
The pilot testing of the Teachers 4.0 e-learning platform represents more than a quality assurance step: it is a collaborative co-design process ensuring that the platform is practical, engaging, and ready for large-scale adoption. Follow our journey to stay updated on the latest developments and be among the first to experience the official launch of the Teachers 4.0 e-learning platform.
